Historic Sites Agnes Water and Town of 1770 are sister towns on the Discovery Coast Birth Place of Queensland Australia. The first recorded landing place in Queensland of Captain James Cook in 1770.
   
  National Parks
National Parks Visitors to the area can observe mangrove lined estuaries, freshwater paperbark swamps as well as eucalypt forests, hoop pines, and rainforest.
   
  Miriam Vale Shire Museum
Miriam Vale Museum Agnes Water is home to the Miriam Vale Shire Museum. Our Museum is open every day but Tuesday from 1 to 4pm and on Sunday from 10am to 4pm. We have an entry charge of $2 for adults and children are free.
